I would like Apple hardware, running Microsoft software, using Google services. How cool would that be?
In the bad-old days Microsoft was the big bad boogie man. Now with the ascendancy of the likes of Google, Apple, Facebook, and Amazon; Microsoft comes off as positively enlightened.
Microsoft does something that few other modern tech companies do, research for research sake.
Another in the NSA spy scandal by Glenn Greenwald. It seems that most folks don’t really care, which is sad.
I find this funny coming on the heels of Microsoft’s anti-Google ads (which were based on Google’s invasion of privacy). Perhaps Balmer is turning into a hipster and meant for the ads to be ironic?
With this anti-trust ruling the transition is complete. Apple is now as bad as the Microsoft of the late 90s. All of the Apple zealots who would sneer at the mention of Microsoft as being a convicted anti-trust behemoth bent on controlling our digital lives must now sneer at the mention of Apple as being a convicted anti-trust behemoth bent on controlling our digital lives.
Back in that previous era I had to forebear all of the accusations of being a MS apologist, or all of the allusions to M$, Microshaft, Microsucks, etc…ad nauseum.
Now that Apple has reached the point that they are unarguably at least as bad as Microsoft of that era I expect to see a mass migration of these morally superior people away from Apple products.
