Fukushima does not get the news coverage that it deserves, a long term problem such as this does not fit into our 24 hour crisis to crisis reporting style.
But it is leaking like a sieve, with the recent raising of the threat level from a one to a three. TEPCO and Japan are simply unable to deal with this crisis and it is time for an international takeover.
The article talks about strontium-90 and cesium-137 and compares their levels to background levels. It is important to understand that neither of these elements existed anywhere in the universe prior to July 16, 1945, so to speak of their “natural” background levels is jingoistic excess.
