War in Anaheim…

You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war.
—Albert Einstein

Much has been made of the militarization of the police.  One direct outcome of that militarization is war.  And this war is being waged on the American people.

To sum up: A young man runs when accosted by police.  For no other reason they shoot him in the back, killing him.  A crowd gathers demanding to know why.  Police respond with force, rubber bullets and attack dogs.

As I watch the scene play out, one side with bottles and rocks, the other with assault rifles, attack dogs and the accoutrements of war; I do not even have to ask what they are fighting about, I know whose side I am on.
